Jim May, (Master Teacher) is an authority on the Humphrey/ Limón technique, (he was a soloist with the Limón company and has taught for the Institute for decades). He is the leading expert on Sokolow for over 50 years (first as soloist, then assistant, and now director of Sokolow Theater Dance). Mr. May has been honored with a Bessie Award, the Marcus award for teaching, established Dance Forum Taipie, was awarded two Fulbright Scholar awards (Mexico and Chile) and taught on the faculties of Juilliard, SUNY Purchase, and Princeton University. He continues to teach, perform, and lecture both National and International, just this last summer enjoying a 9 week residency at the National Academy of Rome which included a lecture at the American Institute sponsored by the American Embassy.  He also performed in the Elliot Feld Ballet, on Broadway in several musicals, and has been a guest artist with many companies.
