Kathryn Schweingruber has been studying and performing dance for 15 years. She is currently a sophomore at Drexel University and a member of Penn Dance Company, directed by Rachel Kantra Beal. She graduated from Central High School in 2016. Kathryn attended Touch of Class Dance Studio and The Rock School West before joining fusion2 and training at Gwendolyn Bye Dance Center in 2010. She has trained in ballet, Graham, Horton, jazz, tap, hip-hop and Umfundalai. In her years as a member of fusion2 and JADA Tap Ensemble, Kathryn has performed at Philadelphia Youth Dance Festival, ETC. Performance Series, Philly Tap Challenge, DC Tap Fest and The Philadelphia Fringe Festival. Through fusion2, Kathryn participated in the fusion2/HMS School for Children with Cerebral Palsy collaboration for three years. She has also choreographed for Penn Dance Company and fusion2. Kathryn has also spent two summers training at Earl Mosley's Institute for the Arts and one at Philadanco's training program. Kathryn was an assistant teacher at Gwendolyn Bye Dance Center for six years and starting in September 2017 she is teaching ballet, tap and hip-hop.
