Nancy Berman Kantra is Associate Professor and Head of Dance/Movement in the School of Theater Arts at the University of the Arts where she has been training actors and dancers since 1983. A Philadelphia native, Ms. Kantra first studied with Thomas Cannon of the Littlefield Ballet Company, The Pennsylvania Ballet, Philadelphia Dance Academy, Harkness Ballet and Dance Theatre of Harlem. Nancy’s performing and training experience includes collaborations with master teachers and choreographers Louis Johnson, Pearl Primus, Rudolph Nureyev and Twyla Tharp. Nancy was soloist with Philadanco from 1978 to 1985 and continues her association with “Danco” in Anniversary and Fundraising Concerts. Ms. Kantra is the Artistic Director of Penn Dance at the University of Pennsylvania and choreographer and teacher for fusion2 and the Gwendolyn Bye Dance Center.
