 Janet Pilla Marini (Company Member) received a BFA in Musical Theater from Syracuse University and an MFA in Dance from Temple University. She toured as a soloist of Ann Vachon/Dance Conduit (a company dedicated to the preservation of the Jose Limón Style) for 12 years. She was a member of Jeanne Ruddy Dance for 11 years. She has performed in the US and abroad with many Philadelphia choreographers and companies. Janet has performed numerous reconstructions of the choreography of Jose Limón, Doris Humphrey, Anna Sokolow, Mary Anthony and has taught Limón technique and repertory in the US, abroad and for the Limon Institute at Peridance in New York City. Janet has been adjunct faculty at Temple and Drexel Universities, Bryn Mawr College, University of the Arts (in Philadelphia) and is currently adjunct faculty at Arcadia University where she teaches dance and theater classes and directs and choreographs musicals and plays. She has taught dance in Philadelphia public and private schools and studios to students of all ages. She was the recipient of a 2008 Dance Advance grant for the research and performance of a 1963 Pauline Koner solo. Janet has been dancing with Dancefusion since 1999 and became Assistant Director in 2013.
